When creating my artwork, I aim to convey the movement and joy of living. You may see this in the vibrant colors I choose, the thick yet fluid application of paint, or an energetic composition that leads your eye around the canvas.
My curiosity of the world encourages me to portray diverse subject matter. The final appearance of my abstracts are the result of many layers of paint and unexpected images revealed when I use a hand sander. The individuals in my figurative works may appear contemplative, vulnerable, joyful or free-spirited. And the still life paintings I create allow a strong sense of light and form to convey the power of a simple composition.
I’ve exhibited in solo shows in the bay area as well as many group shows. After a wonderful first open studio in 2015 I’m looking forward to this year’s event, meeting you and answering any questions you may have about my art or art making process.
