I love using ceramic surfaces as a canvas to paint and decorate. I get a lot of my inspiration from the breath-taking scenery when hiking in the Swiss alps and from children’s books that I used to read when I was growing up in Switzerland. My work also reflect some of the serenity of my Korean roots. I also do some abstract paintings.
I use various methods of clay surface decorating including carving, sgraffito, slip inlay techniques, as well as painting with underglazes.
I like the idea that people enjoy my art pieces not only as visual art but also that all my pieces can be used as functional trays and platters to enhance the gourmet experience at the kitchen or dining room table.
