Here's how you can participate in this great event!
Participation in Silicon Valley Open Studios is free to the public. You don't need an invitation, you don't need an appointment. Just show up at the locations you like during the hours of 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the weekend that the artists are showing.
Your free self-tour of over 130 locations begins with this web site, or with one of the Mapguide and Artist Directory books that are available at more than 300 locations throughout Silicon Valley. See how to Find a Mapguide on this site. Or Find an Artist on this web site to browse all of the participating artists and choose your favorites to visit.
On this web site you can search for your favorite artist by name, studio name, address, or site number. Each participating artist has a page on this site that shows a sample of their art. That page also displays the weekends and locations where they are showing. You can browse all of the artists and see up to three images that represents the work they will show at their studios. Pick as many studios as you wish and go. You don't need to call ahead. Just note the addresses and head out. Once you're in the neighborhood, look for the yellow street signs announcing "Artist Open Studios" and follow the arrows.
You can find one of the paper Mapguide and Artist Directory books and pull out the enclosed paper maps showing the location of all of the studios. Find your favorite artist in the table called "Artists by Site" to learn when and where each is showing.
