The shapes, colors and textures of life always inspire me and my art is an expression of this fascination. The subjects I paint are varied since I am drawn to nature. My goal is to create a painting, which reflects the essence of my experience. My art includes abstracts and representational pieces and I choose to work on each subject in the style that most effectively conveys the intent of the piece-be it value, shape or texture.
Whether abstracted or representational, I try to capture a feeling of the moment that will resonate with the viewer and spark recognition of the mood or the story of the piece.
I work in a variety of water media. Watercolor, acrylic, water media collage and ink are my choices and I often mix them freely, depending on the mood or vision that I am trying to achieve.
Since 2004, I have been painting full time and have had the opportunity to study design, composition and water media techniques with nationally and internationally renowned artists. These experiences have allowed me to grow as an artist and I am always searching for ways to continue growing.
My art has been exhibited at Gallery 9, Los Altos, Gallery 24 in Los Gatos, Studio Gallery in San Francisco and I have also exhibited my work in various solo and group-juried shows in Northern California.
I have received several awards for my art.
