Karen Bieber, a native of California, has been studying watercolor for most of her life. She attended California State University at Long Beach, but, primarily, she considers herself a self-taught artist.
She has been inspired by several nationally known contemporary artists through workshops and ongoing educational pursuits. Much of her subject inspiration comes from the natural world and everyday scenes that surround her home and community.
Karen has been teaching watercolor in the Bay area for over 12 years, and is currently teaching an annual workshop at the Yosemite Art Center in Yosemite National Park.
She has won awards for several of her paintings, and is an active member of the Santa Clara Valley Watercolor Society, and is a Signature member of the National Watercolor Society, Watercolor West and of the California Watercolor Association.
Karen lives in Morgan Hill, California with her husband and two daughters.
