Joys of painting arrived to me after almost three decades pursuing a career in the Biotech. I have always had great interest in art but wasn’t until recent years that I had the opportunity to paint. I was drawn to the challenges of painting by exploring both watercolor and acrylic mediums which allowed me opportunities for experimentation and exploration. Finding a right balance between controlling the paint and allowing the water to take its course is what keeps me continually fascinated.
As an artist I have achieved recognition with showings in galleries and art venues in California and managed to get juried into the California Watercolor Association on few occasions. In my paintings, my primary focus is on capturing the light and its ability to transform the ordinary to extraordinary. Capturing the light is everything! As a plein air painter, it is always the light that I remember most about any location. It is my inspiration. Its elusive quality can transform a figure or a landscape in just a matter of seconds. I strive to convey that sense of place by capturing its fleeting magic. Most of my themes for paintings are landscapes, cityscapes that come from photographs and places traveled and my paintings are recordings of those inspired moments. The evolution of my creativity involved exploration of a wide array of mediums which indeed was a journey of self-discovery. I hope you enjoy viewing my work as much as I enjoy the process of creating it.
I show my work at Gallery House in Palo Alto, California.
