Abstract art was always something I admired, but didn’t know how to tap that side of me. I learned how to paint what I saw, but I wanted to express myself spontaneously. I talked to many artists to find out how they approach abstract paintings and discovered how challenging it is to be able to let go of attachment to reality and let the untamed creativity explode.
I was fortunate to discover new medium – oil and cold wax. It immediately resonated with me and it allowed me to move further away from descriptive reality. It is a joy to let go and immerse myself in a flow of creativity.
My artistic journey started painting watercolors, later I flirted with pastels, but my real love is oil and oil and cold wax. I experiment with under-painting, layering colors, exploring textures. Every painting is a love affair, a challenge and a learning experience.
My Prague series is now on display at Galerie Elektra in Sausalito, CA
