Marcia Sivek has been watercolor painting seriously since 2015 after an amazing wildlife conservation safari. She is primarily self-taught, but is recently under the instruction of Valerie Tomasetti, watercolor artist and instructor of art for Los Gatos Community Education and Santa Clara Watercolor Society. Marcia's paintings are about capturing color, playfulness and life of animals. Her goal is to continue to create colorful art to help protect our wildlife. Marcia is also a member of the National League of American Pen Women (NLAPW), an organization that promotes the development of the creative talents of professional women artists, writers, dramatists, lecturers and composers. Marcia was chosen as one of nine art achievers in the NLAPW Santa Clara Branch for 2018.
She is also the producer and host of a popular conservation podcast, BeProvided Conservation Radio (currently available on iTunes, iHeart Radio and SoundCloud.
Marcia was born in Michigan and moved to California in 2008. She is a recovering environmental engineer who is now educating individuals on how to find creativity and give back to the world. She is currently in the process of co-creating and co-teaching an Expressive Watercolor course with a fellow artist. She is also selling art cards and magnets on Etsy and her website: www.beprovided.com where a percentage of each sale is donated to the Wildlife Conservation Network (www.wildnet.org).
