About ShaRon Haugen

“Paint it all” is what I really do, from flowers to old wood. I enjoy painting, every stroke from start to finish. Choosing challenging work is a habit of mine. I work primarily in oil but also do scratchboard of animals. (This technique is black and white. Starting with a white clay board surface that has black ink on top. I scratch on the board with a pin like tool, removing the ink to show white lines from underneath. This makes it look like hair on animals)
Born in Utah and then moving to Washington State, I spent my youth on a farm.
Living in the country inspired me to paint the lonely old barns and buildings of the rural area. Indians and Old West paintings stem from my fascination of history.
After moving and traveling with my family for several years, California became our home in 1972. It was here that I began my serious oil painting, studying under many art instructors.
I became a professional artist in 1975. My work has been displayed in Art shows and galleries throughout the Western region of the United States.
My hope is to live long enough to “Paint it all”!
