About Rebecca Urrutia-Lopez

Art in all forms has been my love for many years. I have concentrated on crafts and eventually found my diamond in the sky, Mosaic: “Assiette Picasette”. Which is the use of broken tiles, china and glass to form an image.
I have been learning new mosaic techniques seriously for the past 7 years with a master artist, Dimitry Grudsky, in combination viewing glorious mosaic pieces and exploring lots of new techniques. I taught mosaics in an Internship, college level class. In addition, I have taught workshops at my studio. My teaching experience has afforded me to develop practical, diverse curriculum and enhancing my skills.
The combination of mosaic, garden and repurposed materials has been major themes and catalysts for my art work. I have been concentrating on garden art pieces, individual pieces, and furniture. I have an eclectic approach. I combine beads, stones, tile, glass and broken ceramic treasures to create a multi-media art piece.
Mosaic work has brought me joy, creativity and resilience to my life.
