I'm a Northern California artist working primarily in oil paint and watercolor. I'm currently working on several series, one of which I titled 'Parallel Universe', inspired by my love of Rorschach and mirror imagery. I use vintage fashion images from the 60's/70's and baroque era paintings as my muse, to create surreal portraits. Second series titled, 'Flash Back', inspired from the pop culture of my youth. Watercolor scenes from the movie Grease, is the first in this series, which came out when I was in the 5th grade. The last series, titled 'Mrs. Gotrocks', inspired from my collection of crystals. I love capturing the light as they shine through, and the prisms they cast.
I started painting in 2017 after a short career in fashion design and a 20+ year career in massage therapy. At the moment, I'm enjoying realism, I find it challenging and satisfying. I work out of my studio in downtown San Jose and frequently show my work in group shows at The Citadel Art Gallery.
