With deep roots in California, Claire Whitehead explores the rural landscapes that surround her. Her paintings take you to the farm roads, hiking trails and old barns of the Bay Area. She paints in oils on canvas, panel and paper. She paints simple scenes with a minimalist approach.
Claire graduated in 1995 from UC Berkeley with a BA in Art History and Practice of Art. Her influences range from Thiebaud to Hopper and is inspired by contemporary artists Paul Balmer and Michael Chamberlain. Claire has exhibited in numerous spaces, galleries and museums in the Bay Area, most recently Collector Gallery in Berkeley, CA.
