I was born in a snowbank on a cold February morning in Northern Indiana. I have been painting now for 36 years.
Admiration for the Impressionist movement inspired me to start painting and my art evolved as I experimented with color, materials, and style. My work is definitely original, with most canvases, I have no idea what the final work will look like. Most pieces start with random strokes on the canvas and evolves into whatever and wherever the Spirit and the canvas takes them. My focus is to finish a work that satisfies me in the way it feels and the way it looks. Some end up being way out there and some are reminiscent of everyday life; most are very colorful. I use mostly oil paint but some recent works are made up of trash pile scarps on old plywood.
