Yoko Tahara is an interdisciplinary artist who was born and raised in Japan. She has been working on media such as installation, drawing and printmaking (monotype, linoleum cut and etching). She creates imaginative, abstract compositions based on images from nature and the Japanese culture. She currently focuses on photo etchings which she uses to create delicate details and various background textures. The scabiosa pods gives her motivation to work on her new body of work.
She also commits time to community-based art practice for environmental issues, especially concerning the oceans and fresh water related matters.
