About Elizabeth Mahbod

Hello there!

My name is Liz, and I am a painter, mom, and cat lover. I live in Saratoga with my husband, daughter, and cat.

I have always been passionate about art but for many years I was lucky if I had any free time to paint. In my previous career I was a driven biochemist who could easily spend 70 hours a week in the lab. However when I started thinking about having kids, I decided I wanted to slow down and enjoy the precious time I had with my family. My love of the natural world is still there though, and you will occasionally see it in some of my paintings.

Painting isn't my only creative outlet. I enjoy woodworking (especially with resin) quilting, gardening, and sometimes even soap making.
