I am attracted to the clean and bright energy of the mid-century modern aesthetic because it exemplifies a certain simplicity and celebration of form and space. My artworks adorn homes throughout the United States and Europe.
My work is nouveau modernist in a sense. My pieces are bold and bright abstract representations of form, but these forms interplay with each other and express a type of relationship. My Metaphorical Relationships collection was created because I wanted to add something zen-like, but bold + bright, to an otherwise often complicated world. The minimalist expression allows for open interpretation and room for the art to breathe. I use bold, bright colors in large format so that the piece becomes a statement piece in any room.
The paintings add a bright pop and a strong presence or aura to any room in your home. The work is mysterious and intriguing. All my works come framed in an elegant natural wood frame.
A love poem accompanies each piece, written by the artist, and represents an exploration of the inter-relationship between the shapes on the canvas and the story that may be unfolding.
I studied studio art at the University of California, Davis, under the New York artist, Jane Rosen, and I hold an M.A. in Creative Writing. I have exhibited throughout the United States, including Washington D.C., Seattle, Los Angeles, and San Diego and San Francisco. My works have been sold both domestically and internationally, and are held in private and corporate collections.
