I graduated from San Jose State University in 1978 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, specializing in ceramics and art history. After graduating, my career took a different path and my interest in pottery was put on the back burner (pun intended). I've since retired and now have time for my passion with clay.
My real interest has always been in raku-fired pottery, an ancient form of glazing ceramic pieces. I enjoy the experience of removing a red-hot ceramic piece from a 1900 degree (F) kiln and placing the ware into a reduction chamber to complete the firing process. This is not only exciting to me but it is also enjoyable to see the unique outcome of each product. My hope is that I create something of beauty that appeals to others.
