G Dan Mitchell
G Dan Mitchell is a California photographer and visual opportunist whose subjects include landscapes of the American West, wildlife, street photography, night photography, and US and European travel. His photographs have been exhibited at The Ansel Adams Gallery in Yosemite Valley, the Center for Photographic Art in Carmel, the annual Yosemite Renaissance exhibition, the Harvey Milk Photo Center, San Francisco ArtSpan Open Studios (with the night photography group Studio Nocturne SF), The Stellar Gallery, Gallery Five, and other locations including public and private facilities in Death Valley National Park, the Carmel area, San Francisco, Chicago, and in Europe and Australia. He was Yosemite Renaissance artist-in-residence in Yosemite National Park in 2018. His photographs appear in books and magazines, and he presents talks on photography subjects. Mitchell is the author of “California’s Fall Color: A Photographer’s Guide to Autumn in the Sierra” (Heyday Books, Berkeley).
G Dan Mitchell and his wife, photographer Patricia Emerson Mitchell, will host their first Silicon Valley Open Studio in 2022. In addition to the prints shown on the Silicon Valley Open Studio website, a variety of other photographs will be available at their open studio, including limited-edition framed and unframed work in a range of sizes and smaller, affordable open-edition prints.
