An engineer by training, Wen found herself drawn into art over the years. Rather than flattening individual characteristics of things and grouping them into boxes for engineering purposes, Wen now finds delight in highlighting the uniqueness of natural things in her paintings. As a diver and rock climber, she loves moving through oceans and mountains and capturing the divine beauty and sense of wonder she experiences in these places. Having studied with artists in China, New York, Australia, and California, Wen is currently interested in depicting the intense light and shadow in places such as California and Hawaii.
