I notice beauty in so much of our everyday world. I become mesmerized by how natural light falls upon a subject. Whether this subject is a human figure, a landscape, a simple structure or a still life, I am captivated by the shapes that the light creates.

In my paintings I strive to capture the beauty of this natural light. When painting the human form, I observe the value changes on the body. I pay close attention to the shadows that ground the body to the earth.
