Echeveria Afterglow
I was inspired to create this acrylic painting after participating in Margaret Washington’s backyard for Silicon Valley Open Studios in 2022. I captured a photo of her succulent while the light created these magical colors before the sun shifted and turned the plant back to muted tones.

Renee Switkes
Since entering the professional scene in August 2021, Renée has actively integrated into the Silicon Valley art community, drawing inspiration from personal encounters and nature. While primarily creating for personal fulfillment, collectors have recognized the impact of her work. Her paintings have been displayed at several galleries, and Voss Gallery represents her work. Renée has also received recognition for her work with two platinum and two bronze awards. Her paintings have been collected by private collectors across the globe, from France to India and in various locations in the United States. Her acceptance into the state-wide competition and salon by the Triton Museum in Santa Clara is a testament to her dedication and skill.
Renée says that painting flowers helps her slow down and enjoy nature’s simple beauty. It also nourishes her desire for others to feel joy and connect more deeply when they view her paintings.
