Henry II of France gave Chateau de Chenonceau to his mistress and gave a cold and damp fortress to his wife, Catherine de’ Medici. When Henry died, Catherine moved into Chenonceau, sending the mistress packing. I photographed the river from the gallery that Catherine added to the chateau. The image is on 13" x 19" archival paper and includes a 16" x 20" front mat.
