Marc Casad-Painting
Marc Casad
For over 5 years, Marc has sought a unique style in Post-Impressionist paintings with bright, crisp, near-saturated color schemes, loose impasto brushstrokes allowing subtle “peekthroughs” of colorful underpaintings, and contour lines.
Always inspired by Van Gogh, after a trip to Manhattan and the New York Met where he saw a number of the master’s work first-hand, this summer Marc took the plunge and adopted a modern version of Van Gogh’s plein air palette.
Since then, Marc has explored and appropriated much of what Van Gogh used in his later landscape paintings, including loose brushstrokes with neat, clean, slightly-mixed colors laid down side-by-side in a languid flowing manner.
With his addition of multicolored underpaintings, varied brushstrokes, and sprinklings of grace notes, Marc creates landscapes which move the viewer’s eye through scenes of lush, thickly-applied brushstrokes and sparkles of color notes, creating lots of movement and surprise with a sense of whimsy.
