In 2006 I began my pottery journey with a simple class at the local community college. My first class focused on handbuilding with clay. The following class then moved to the pottery wheel and I was hooked. I continue to fine tune my craft on the pottery wheel. I primarily work with the pottery wheel making functional pieces with strong bold glazes. All my pieces are food safe and fired to cone ? temperature.
Since leaving the junior college in 2008, I have built my own pottery studio in my home where I continue my practice. I continue my personal enrichment and learning by regularly attending various pottery conferences like the American Pottery Festival (Minneapolis Minnesota), workshops at the Mendocino Art center and Sierra Nevada college.
My pottery has been shown at a number of school shows with Skyline College (San Bruno California) and the California CCAC show in Davis. I am not an active member of NECCA. The NECCA yearly conference and membership organization allows me the opportunity to improve my skill while fostering my participation in the world of ceramics.
Today my pottery is sold at various retail sites in the SF Bay Area and you regularly find my work at local art shows like Handmade Pacifica, Pacifica Fog Fest and the SJMade events.
