Liz Broekhuyse

My art explores themes of sustainability, imagination and the ephemeral. I work across media including fashion, textile art, painting and illustration.

My graphic design training is a strong influence on my work – resulting in simplified, flat planes of color and strong compositions. The rebellion to my graphic design training is equally strong – absurd surrealism, expressive brushwork and a handmade quality that I would never get away with in my commercial work.
