Botanical Silks and Papers are hand-dyed and printed from plants grown in my garden or collected primarily in Santa Clara county. The leaves and berries from several eucalyptus varieties, ornamental plum leaves, black walnut hulls, sour grass and marigold flowers, avocado pits and skins, and oak galls are some of the plant materials used. Most of the pieces are dyed and printed several times before hand embroidered embellishments are added or enhanced with line drawings or natural inks.
