I am a visual artist working in fiber, paint, kelp and mixed-media. I have always been drawn to the natural environment and the ocean as subjects for my art.
Several of my fiber pieces were done while living in Hawaii on the island of Kauai. The giant leaves that grow everywhere became a big part of the fiber pieces I did there.
I have also done tapestry woven commissions for banks and the State of California Art in Public Buildings Program.
I have a MA in Environmental Education with an emphasis on environmental art and a “Sense of Place”.
I have recently worked with over 100 students to create informative art for three “Totem Poles” on Linda Mar Beach. This project was 5 years in the making and is meant to inform visitors to Pacifica beaches as to what lives here and how to protect them.
