Karin Taber
Karin Taber is a contemporary California artist & long-time member of the Stanford art community. A New England native, she studied painting, printmaking & jewelry design at the Rhode Island School of Design, among other area institutions. The coastal environments where she now divides her time, the SF Bay Area & San Diego, are strong influences on her creative work. The abstract seascape & landscape paintings and prints are fluid & layered in style, emulating the ethereal palette of nature & the dynamic movement the sea. Using non-traditional tools & mixed media, she splashes, drips, scrapes & glazes, infusing the works with metallics & minerals to create a glowing, energetic composition. Ultimately, her works invite the viewer to take a personal journey to a peaceful place and time.
Taber’s works have been collected by national & international institutions & exhibited in contemporary art galleries & exhibition sites throughout the United States, including at Stanford University.
