Noreen Rubay
I was raised in Los Angeles and garnered a degree in Graphic Design. I moved to the Bay Area in 1997 and continued my art education at SJSU where I received a BFA in steel sculpture. Additionally, I completed my teaching credential and taught art at Piedmont Hills High School for 20 years. During that time, I was commissioned by Adobe Systems to create original steel sculptures which they used as achievement awards for their employees. Now, I make handmade glass beads used in various ways such as gorgeous glass necklace pendants, functional objects like wine stoppers, cheese and canape knifes with glass beads adorned to these "functional art" piece’s. My new work is glass flower bouquets wall art.
I’m excited to be part of Silicon Valley Open Studios. I’ll be exhibiting with fellow artists at The Alameda Artworks at 1068 The Alameda in San Jose. I’ll be in the "Green Door Annex," Site #186.
