Julia Seelos

Julia studied at the RISD, University of Cincinnati and San Jose State University. After a career as a designer in San Francisco she has devoted herself full time to plein air painting.
Julia has participated in the west’s most prestigious events; Carmel Art Festival, Los Gatos, Sedona, Telluride, Sonoma, Zion National Park, Escalante, Paint the Peninsula in Port Angles, WA and Santa Fe. She has been invited six times to the Grand Canyon Celebration of Art.
Her paintings have been selected for numerous national exhibitions with the American Impressionist Society, California Art Club, Triton Art Museum, Steinbeck Museum, Wilding Museum, Epperson Gallery and LPAPA shows. Julia’s works have been selected for shows at the Epperson Gallery, Monterey Maritime Museum, Mountainsong Gallery, Pacific Grove Art Association and the Steinbeck Center. Julia was awarded First Place for oils in the Santa Cruz Statewide Landscape Show by juror, Jean Stern and Best of Show in the 2010 LPAPA Best of Plein Air Exhibition earning an invitation to the Laguna Plein Air Festival. She was honored as Artist of the Month in 2011 by the LPAPA. Julia has been featured at Galleria Tontantzin, Portola Art Gallery, Baywood Gallery and Viewpoints Gallery.
