Back in the Soviet Union, transforming junk into treasure was a skill polished by necessity. I enjoy working with a variety of materials, from cardboard to copper wire, from glass jars to kitchen cupboard doors, from spray paint to hair gel, finding unexpected charm and breathing new life into pieces that have already served their purpose.

I have been playing with words and images since I remember myself, interspersing math lecture notes with rhymes and roses. Later adding technology, I began taking photos. For a very long time I was told that in order to get a good picture you have to go to a great place and spend a lot of time and money on travel and equipment. Being defiant, I took my best pictures with my phone in my own backyard. I believe that you can see the universe in a drop of water or in a fallen leaf…

Playing with words and images, I did a lot of fusion crafting visual poems. And then I made one more step. Everyone knows about graphic novels. I created a new genre – graphic poems. You can see collection of my poetry books in my studio.
