Because I love the outdoors, I am drawn to capture moments of overwhelming awe and inspiration. A sense of movement is very important to me, just as the air, the clouds, the ocean and even the grass is constantly rhythmically dancing. Finding peace in nature is another theme I look for such as a lone tree on a perfectly still reservoir. My subjects are often local, where I paint plein air, meaning completely outdoors and in the moment. Sometimes I take a favorite small plein air painting and create an even larger version in the studio adding people or animals to the scene. My favorite medium at the moment is oil with pieces ranging from very small (6”x8”) to very large (36”x48”).

I have a background in product design, engineering and graphic art and I love hiking, biking and swimming. This is my first Silicon Valley open studio.
