This functional and decorative plate features 2 flying birds inspired by folk art and bohemian styles on a layered background of blue, purple and dark yellow. A small raised, polka dotted cloud adorns the rim on the top left and adds extra whimsy.
This peppertree burl vase was turned green, and then let to dry and deform as moisture leaves the wood. The result is a distorted shape with grain collapse in some areas. Carving and burning added to the rim enhances the organic feel.
I caught this image of a cow pony while I was traveling through a rural area of northern California. I find western working horses and their equipment beautiful and iconic.
Painted on a gessoed stretched canvas, the acrylic paint was applied and then gel was added to give the painting some interesting texture.
Deconstructed Jewelry is cleaned and reconstructed on washi paper. Each work contains a piece of gold, silver or a semi-precious stone.
