Kim Meuli Brown
Kim Meuli Brown is an artist and graphic designer currently working with textiles and fiber. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Textile Design from University of California, Davis and continued her career as a graphic designer working for companies such as Apple Computer, Adobe, and Atari. No longer working in the technical industry, Kim’s new work focuses on nature inspired themes and is all about "fiber". She uses local plants for fabric dyes and eco printing. She transforms her fabrics into book arts, scarfs, and clothing. She enjoys using traditional textile techniques in new and creative ways.
Currently she has a studio at The Alameda Artworks in San Jose, where she spends time dyeing fabrics with natural dyes. Instead of a blank piece of paper, she starts her creations with a blank, usually white piece of silk or wool.

Still Life #1
In the Still Life Painting Collection, I pay homage to the great impressionist artists of the past. My approach is both reverential and innovative, blending tradition with contemporary flair. My technique is a dance between abstraction and realism. My shaded three-dimensional paint drips create a tactile experiencethe viewer can almost feel the texture of petals, the weight of porcelain, or the coolness of glass. But its more than illusion its a literal statement about the medium itselfthe very essence of paint on canvas. Whether its a sun-drenched lemon or a weathered violin, each object whispers storie
