Anu Valtanen
With a keen eye for detail, I invite you to see the world as I do – where the morning fog wraps around your skin, where white puffy clouds dance in the blue sky, and where the brilliant sunset transitions into a blue hour. My art is a reflection of the peace and serenity that I experience in nature, and it’s my hope that you’ll feel a connection to the paintings I create.
Born and raised in the breathtaking landscapes of Finland, I bring my love of nature to life on the canvas. My medium of choice, watercolor, captures the essence of the clouds, water, and greenery that have always captivated my imagination.
As a member of both the Fine Art League of Cupertino and the Sunnyvale Art Club, I’ve had the privilege of showcasing my work in numerous juried shows, and have been recognized for my unique style with several awards. I was Artist of the Year 2022 and 2023 in Sunnyvale Art Club.
California and Finland collide in my art, and I’m thrilled to share my vision with you.

Metamorphosis
Rooted in the rich tapestry of Indian narrative art, my work reflects both my inner world and the world around me. Through spiritual practice, I explore complex emotions that continually evolve and transform. Metamorphosis, an intricately crafted ceramic sculpture, embodies this journey. Tentacle-like forms wrap around a U-shaped structure, symbolizing the delicate balance of lifes transformations. This abstraction captures the shift from internal chaos to self-acceptance, illustrating how each experience shapes and refines us.
