My ceramics show my appreciation for a clean, modern aesthetic and I’m inspired by mid-century and Japanese modern design. I love to play with the boundaries between function and decoration, creating contrasts in form, color and texture which are endlessly fascinating to me. I make my own glazes and continually experiment and test the effects of fire in combination with layering glaze, oxides, and slips.
Clay allows me to express spontaneity while remaining fluid as the nature of clay is fluid. I like my pieces to look as if they are forever wet, moldable and in-motion.
This year we are having our Open Studio Art Party for all 3 weekends: May 3-4, 10-11, 17-18
Stop by and see 4 different artists, Ceramics, Jewelry and handmade bags. Come for the art and stay for the food, music, dogs and friends!
