Dusk Forest, Iron Soil
This blown glass vessel depicts an abstraction of a landscape as the sun sets. The last dregs of blue begin to pale in the sky, the trees now mostly shadow, the red dirt that feeds them cooling slowly on their roots.

James Vreeland
The Bay Area Glass Institute (BAGI) provides accessible, hands-on glass experiences that educate and inspire current and future generations of students, artists, patrons, and our community.
Our Vision
The Bay Area Glass Institute is dedicated to our local community, providing accessible and educational hands-on experiences with the broadest choices of instruction, events, and rentals, in furnace glass, flameworking, fusing, casting, and cold working.
BAGI generates the funds it needs to operate, maintain its facility, and re-invest in programs that provide people access to glass art education such as our Scholarship Fund, Summer Camp, and Visiting Artist Series. BAGI earns revenue from classes and events, through grants funding from the City of San Jose and other arts and science organizations, and patrons who donate annually.
We are featuring the work of James Vreeland – @jmv.iii this year for open studios.
