Rebecca Holland
My studio is in the hills South of Half Moon Bay, half way in between the redwoods and the ocean. My passion for painting has been driven by the spectacular beauty I see in nature. I have painted wherever I have traveled, the American Southwest, Hawaii, Canada, Mexico, and beyond, but my first love is California. I paint the way light falls on water, trees, and hills and the way light fills the sky at sunset. I paint light, and nature instructs me.
I do photography, watercolor and pencil studies when I travel, but my medium is the traditional medium of oil on linen. I am grateful that truly archival reproductions of my paintings are available through the method of giclée printing. This is an inkjet process using light-resistant inks. Once coated with UV varnish, a canvas will retain its color for many many lifetimes. The quality is so true to the original and makes my work available to more people.
I also do work on commission. These pieces, brought to life through photo studies and collaboration, are by their nature special works, and have gone on to become popular as gicleé prints.
If you visit my website, www.RebeccaHolland.Online, there is a video tour of my studio, from 2020 and a visual catalog of some of my paintings. I enjoy my life as an artist and find happiness and satisfaction in sharing these images of beauty with others.
My work is available from my studio, and from my store website, RebeccaHolland.Online. I am a member of the Coastal Arts League with a gallery on Main Street in Half Moon Bay.
