Mister Manatee
One of the objectives of my art is to get people to see ocean life as precious, to foster a sense that it is something that we need to cherish. I not only research the animals that I paint, but to also tend to give them a sense of character, while keeping the animals as realistic as possible. I often watch videos of animals in their natural habitat, to observe them moving. "Mister Manatee" is my second piece showcasing this animal, inspired by friends in Florida. Spray paint and acrylic on canvas with sea glass accents. $125.00

Jo Fry
I am an avid beachcomber, out on the coast almost every day. Sea glass – trash that has been transformed into gems – is a prize. I research and write about my finds, make jewelry from them, and I paint. I take the beauty of our California coast, its native flora and fauna, and interpret it on canvas. Sea glass provides inspiration for my art – making mixed media pieces that use the glass as both an accent and focus to my creations, along with watercolor, acrylics, spray, and oil paint.
The ocean and coast are my passion, and I want to share it.
My work can currently be found at the Sanchez Center in Pacifica, as a part of the Art Guild of Pacifica, at the Ocean Blue Art Vault and at the Coastal Art League. Both Ocean Blue and the Coastal Art League are located on Main Street, in my town of Half Moon Bay.
