Oak Shade Pools
The Quercus genus (Latin "fine tree") defines stately oaks in golden meadows, iconic of the Bay Area landscape. In small groves or alone, drawing on deep reserves of age and aquifer. Sacred to Native Americans, remarkable to early explorers. Wintertime distinguishes Live Oak’s evergreen from the deciduous Black Oak, festooned with incongruously green mistletoe.
