Landscape, particularly the California landscape is my muse. I use soft pastels to convey my love of nature on location immersed in all that is happening around me, and in my studio, where my imagination can roam more freely. Painting for me is always about exploring the natural as well as interior worlds. As Thomas Merton observed: "Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time." Pastel is the perfect medium – spontaneous, tactile and intuitive.
My landscapes are in private collections in the US and Europe. I am a signature member of the Pastel Society of the West Coast and maintain a studio at Art Bias in San Carlos.
