Sgraffito Leaf Platter
Hand-formed ceramic stoneware platter with hand-carved sgraffito leaf pattern. Green Engobe is applied to the leather hard clay body and left to dry before carving each design. The piece is then bisque fired and glazed with multiple glazes before being fired again to achieve the glossy finish. The Celadon glazes I use on the base allow the carving technique to show through.

Gigi Luke
I have always been an artist at heart, inspired by the natural beauty of the Sierra Foothills where I grew up. After years in a corporate career, I rediscovered my creative path during the pandemic through pottery, captivated by the transformative nature of clay. My signature Intention Birds™ are hand-formed, glazed, and stamped with meaningful words, while my Driftwood Birds blend the organic and man-made, perched on driftwood gathered from local beaches. Inspired by my travels and natural landscapes, I aim to create pieces that evoke joy, connection, and an appreciation for life’s beauty. I share my passion through workshops and am honored to see my work cherished by collectors across the Bay Area and beyond.
