Sylvie Levesque

I identify as an abstract and figurative painter, expressing my innermost emotions and experiences through my artwork. I work with a variety of mediums, including collage, watercolor, acrylic, and occasionally oil, crafting layered and textured paintings that explore the subtleties of my creative process.

Captivated by the complexity and expressiveness of the human figure, my paintings often omit details such as facial features, arms, or legs. This intentional absence invites viewers to engage their imagination and emotions, fostering a personal connection with the work. Through my artistic journey, I celebrate the interplay of colors and textures, breathing life into abstract landscapes and depictions of women that evoke a sense of wonder.

As a self-taught artist, I take pride in sharing my unique creative process and personal story. Free from the constraints of traditional art education, I’ve had the freedom to explore my creativity and develop my own style. This journey has been both challenging and rewarding, pushing me to continuously refine my techniques and vision.

One of my greatest joys comes from sharing my work and forming meaningful connections with others. A client once described their experience of my art, saying, "There’s an emotional depth to this piece that is difficult to put into words." I feel deeply honored to engage others on such an emotional level through my art.

My work was exhibited at SFWA in San Francisco in 2024, and I am currently showcasing my paintings at Viewpoints Gallery in Los Altos.
