The Camelia and the Bee
On a morning walk, I interrupted the bee enjoying a delicious breakfast. She was nice enough to stand still until I memorized the special moment. This is so far the only watercolor painting not including water in the subject. But the painting itself is a perfect example of the watercolor technique.

Alain FASTRE
Born in a small village in Belgium, I like to describe myself as an American with European roots, very happy to live in the magical San Francisco Bay Area.
Self taught, I have been drawing and painting for more than 40 years.
During those years, I had the opportunity to visit 29 different countries. I have seen beautiful and iconic places that have engraved indelible memories in my mind, becoming the subjects of my artwork.
Virtually all my paintings have water as subject or included in the subject, often the California West Coast, but also the beautiful Big Sur area south of Carmel by the Sea, a river in Holland, a lake in Finland, a marsh in Belgium, the oldest lighthouse of Ireland, gondolas on a Canale in Venezia… and much more…
