We have publicity materials available for you to pick up (locations and hours below):
Directories
Directories are available
- For the public, we will be distributing the printed directories throughout the Peninsula and Coast via a circulation management company. For artists, please do not take these – see list of pickup points below.
- If you are a site host or gallery, you will want an adequate number for your site visitors before and during the show. We assume an average of 25 per site, but large sites may need more.
- If you are not a host, please take a reasonable number based on what you think you’ll actually use. We assume an average of 10 copies per artist.
- Keep in mind that an exact pdf copy of the printed directory can be downloaded from our website to save trees! If you wish to distribute it to your followers via email or social media, use the following links. Encourage your followers to use the online directory and map as it includes updates that were not available when the directory went to press.
- Online directory: svos.org/artists (also mention the link to your own page)
- Online map: svos.org/map
Yellow street signs
- These are the highly visible and recognizable SVOS yellow signs used to provide visitor directions to sites from nearby locations. They are made of heavy coated paper and can be reused multiple times. They can be customized with arrows, etc., and mounted on wooden signboards or other backing such as foamboard and metal stakes. (Stakes can be purchased at Home Depot or online.) Keep in mind that when placed along the side of a street, you may want to use two (back to back) so they will be visible both ways. Take what you need.
- Durable corrugated plastic versions of the yellow street signs with a metal stake are also available for purchase. They can be ordered here: svos-street-signs-order-form or from the menu link on the left.
Posters
- There are two sizes of posters available to promote the show: 8.5 x 11 and 11 x 17. We have a limited number of the large ones and plenty of the smaller ones. They are intended for local libraries, schools and colleges, coffee shops, retail stores and kiosks to increase public awareness of the show. We rely on you to distribute them in your area. Take what you think you can put up and return any unused ones in a timely manner so they’re not wasted.
- Pdf copies of the posters are also available for your use at svos.org/artist-marketing-templates.
Postcards
- Postcard templates are available for you to download and modify to suit your needs (svos.org/artist-marketing-templates).

Getting the word out
Beyond the publicity that SVOS provides, you can help drive traffic to your site (both online and physical) using these publicity materials and your own publicity efforts via social media and email. It’s really important to do this in the weeks leading up to the show. See svos.org/social-media-tips-for-artists for tips on how to do this effectively.
