The work emanates a articulated vernacular, a brevity of archaic marks, enhanced by ephemeral layers of uncertainty. These are juxtaposed with archetype elements causing their meanings to be subtly obscured. His work urges us to renegotiate painting as being part of a reactive or self-controlled medium. With the use of appropriated materials, he makes works that can be seen as self-referential, idiosyncratic and quirky. He creates situations in which benign objects are altered or detached from their natural function. Thus by applying specific combinations and unconscious manipulations, different contexts are created. He creates with referential elements, in a configuration in which the viewer must interpret the signs to decipher the content.
