Guy Magallanes

Guy Magallanes is self-taught and has painted since childhood. He made the decision to call himself and Artist in 2000.

His work is published in “Splash 9”, “Splash 10”, “Splash 15” and he is one on fifteen contributors to “Watercolor Secrets” – All by North Light Books.

Guy started teaching in 2005 and offers weekly classes in his shop in San Carlos and a guided class in person and also online.

As a watercolorist, I experiment with different techniques painting images that surround me daily. Hyper Realism is how I’d classify my style of painting. I usually paint the image with exaggerated color not competing with the photo reference, I am striving to find the excitement that compelled me to paint it. I let the painting speak to me and it lets me know where to go and what to do.
