Giant Sequoias (Redwoods) ( I-L & II-R )
I have painted my two redwood trees on the tallest canvases that I could, because, the redwood trees are, and can be very tall. A few years back, the tallest one was measured using a helicopter, to be 371′(Feet). In these oil paintings of Redwood Trees, I have used Yosemite as the background. On the right, you are able to see in the background, Bridal Veil Falls and Half Dome. On the Redwood Tree on the left, you can see the Upper and Lower Yosemite Falls and El Capitan rock cliff (approximately 3,000 feet high) in the background behind the massive tree. This is one of the oil paintings in which I have combined one-point, two- point, and three-point perspectives.

My art comes from my life experiences that I have had and emotional attachments I have made. The reason I choose to paint these images is twofold. First, since they come from my life, they automatically become my visual diaries. Every time I look at a painting that I have painted, it reminds me of the times when I painted it. It also brings back more detailed memories of those times. The feelings and the memories evoked are so strong that it allows me to time-travel back to the time when I painted it. Secondly, in each painting I try to go somewhere, where I have never been before. Let me explain. In the early works, when I was still studying various art elements the risks I took were with the parallel lines in the sky, or in the use of, unrealistically bright colors. Lately though, these art elements including art history are used in my works in more risky ways. They are churned in unusual ways, pushed to do something they (the art elements) have never done before. This results in the new images that neither camera nor real life can show you. I can honestly say that, these paintings are my true self-expressions and every time a new image is revealed to me I am intrigued and most delighted to share it with the viewers.
