Grand Canyon morning
This painting was constructed with cold wax and oil on board, created without brushes, using squeegee and palette knife. These tools help form the planes of light and the texture of stone and plant.

Jane Lombard
ART IS Therapy. I am looking at the periphery of the real, and search for brilliance in the ordinary. Life is not just flowers or landscapes or people, but experiences and feelings that form memories. I love the outdoors so natural light and the environment are common threads. I am deeply influenced by Matisse, Picasso, Diebenkorn and Hockney. I admire their innovation and versatility, not pegged into one genre or one style.
I hope to engage the viewer into a deeper observational analysis and personal introspection with my work. In our hectic lives, this had become a rarity. My artistic objective is to slow down life, so we can think, ponder and create.
