Summer Garden
I painted Summer Garden at the Palo Alto Community Garden, where I often set up my easel during spring and summer. The garden’s range of colors and textures is always a wonderful inspiration for my modern oil paintings.

Karen White
Award-winning artist Karen White has lived in the Bay Area since the 1960s, when much of the region was agricultural. She takes a modern approach in her oil paintings, using strong, simplified design and saturated color. Her big brushes and confident strokes lend a surface texture that often tells its own story.
A life-long learner, Karen is always enrolled in a class of some kind. She has worked with noted contemporary oil painters including Bryan Mark Taylor, Brian Blood, Kim English, Robert Genn, Mike Kirschel, Terry Miura, Randall Sexton, and earlier with the late Van Waldron and the late Canadian master Robert Genn. She continues ongoing study with Ray Mendieta.
Karen’s galleries include Viewpoints Gallery in Los Altos, and STUDIO Gallery and Inclusions Gallery, both in San Francisco. Her work is found in collections across North America, Europe and Asia Pacific.
